I received an invite to the Orla Kiely presentation for her Spring Summer 2014 collection and was delighted to attend as I’ve been a fan of her work for the past year. Elms Lester Gallery was transformed into a jungle with life sized zebras and a safari camp set up. The collection was filled with a variety of safari prints, from burnt orange abstract giraffe prints to knitted tops with lion embellishments. It also included knee high socks and dainty over the shoulder bags which added to the young, playful explorer theme that Orla Kiely had created. Pastel pink berets accompanied lace skater skirts and smock dresses and each detail had been carefully considered with fishing nets and butterflies captured in jar’s used as accessories and prop’s.
I was in personal favour of the yellow and orange patent sandals and mini purses on a chain. Easily the most adorable collection I’ve seen this season.
Here’s a link to a short video of the collection (it’s not my video)
