Life is crazy at the minute; probably pretty average to the normal person but for a sloth like me it’s a whole different story. I’ve obviously still had enough time to put together a shopping list of things I need asap though.
I’ve been interning at House of Holland and after staring at that floral parka, I’ve never wanted something more in my entire life. I’m also dying for a pair of Vagabonds but I can’t justify another pair of black boots.
Coat – ASOS | Crop top – ASOS | Leather look pinafore – Primark | Bag – Zara | Boots – Jeffrey Campbell | Silver chain – River Island
The arrival of Autumn has only enhanced my already all black everything attitude so this coat adds the perfect amount of colour. The check ties in perfectly for a subtle grunge inspired outfit but the fit of the coat juxtaposes the entirety of it with an almost… boxy fit?
I took these snaps before attending a bloggers briefing for CFW with Taylor and Ella (who kindly took this picture for me) and the event was held in Cardiff bay which explains why there is so much water behind me instead of the usual (boring) brick wall. The whole idea of outfit snapping in such an aesthetically pleasing location is a breeze, right? Right. The literal sense though, a cold, windy breeze.
It’s FINALLY time to start waving hello to my favourite seasons, Autumn and Winter! Firstly, I have to bare that weird-unpredictable in between weather that September normally holds. Luckily, it’s nothing us Brits can’t handle as seasons here are often blurred and rain is an all year round kinda thing.
I also start uni this month so I’m hoping to pick up plenty of comfy and casual pieces to see me through long days of lectures and whatever else my Fashion Promotion degree has to throw at me. I can’t wait to get started but first I need to get through the stress of planning outfits for Fashion Week. I wish I started planning it sooner but I just don’t have it in my soul to be organised, however hard I try.
Side note: I haven’t done any outfit posts in a while but I get my new camera soon so that should solve my ‘I refuse to upload this picture because the quality is awful and I look like a goose’ problem, or at least half of it… I’ll have to live with looking like a goose unfortunately.
I normally blog quite regularly on what items I’m currently lusting after but I’m so obsessed with mixing grunge and bohemian styles together that everything I want involves a kimono and some kind of pleather lately. I didn’t want to bore you all with my punk/boohoo infatuations but I don’t think I can help myself. I’m still not over holographic accessories either and that bag (008) is a dream.
Pinafore – New Look | Top – ASOS | Jacket – Similar Here | Bag – Primark | Necklace – eBay
If hair roots and over exposed pictures are your thing then you might like this post, if not then hopefully you can look past that and appreciate my effort. Or you could always take amusement in how unplanned the third picture is.
I had this pinafore a really long time ago but it’s become a staple piece because it’s so easy to wear with everything in my wardrobe. I paired it with a chain and polo neck top to let my inner spice girl out and thought it juxtaposed nicely against the whole preppy school girl attire that the backpack and pinafore were creating.
My style musings are currently the cast of Saved By The Bell and I’m incorporating some kind of 90s trend into every single outfit I wear, if it’s not a pair of flatforms, it’s a hair scrunchie. Give me an American high school and call me Kelly Kapowski because I can see me wearing clothes from back in the day all Summer long.
I don’t know who I think I am with all these items – I’m starting to resemble a certain white rapper in a thrift shop…
Statement blouses are becoming my go-to items, they’re quite literally becoming my thing for 2013.
I’m absolutely obsessed with those floral flatforms from ASOS too and isn’t that belt just, dope?
The HUF socks and lion head gold chain are just to satisfy my inner white rapper (like stated above..)
I suppose the cute little jelly shoes are a subtle reminder that I’m still a little girl at heart and not complete white trash, just yet.
I have a love-hate relationship with Sunday’s. I hate how boring they are but my lazy attitude is the only thing to blame. I do love browsing the internet with a cuppa every Sunday mind.
I struggled to put together a list of everything I want this month. Everything I’m lusting after only exists in my imagination, or at least I’m telling myself Henry Holland is working on it. Every so often I get a little disappointed with the high street and nothing catches my eye. In fact, nearly everything above are things I’ve wanted for months but haven’t gotten around to buying yet. Nothing new.
I’m starting to really get into statement pieces lately, I’m bored of the same old same old. It probably explains my lack of enthusiasm with high street stores recently. I’m thinking a trip to a few vintage stores are in order soon..
