Sandals – Birkenstock

I need to stop buying incredibly ugly but equally as comfy shoes that are now deemed trendy because the Olsen twins regularly rock them with socks and oversized knits. A classic case of; they aren’t OK until Alexa [Chung] says so.

This Easter weekend hasn’t just been about my new footwear but it’s also included a rare appearance from the sun and a pretty sick playlist to accompany said sunshine. Enjoyyyyyy.

Hello Winter

Coat – River Island | Top – JD | Skirt – River Island | Bag – Zara

This picture is hideous and I’m not completely sold on the outfit but the jacket is the equivalent to wearing a hug which is always ideal for a day at uni.

River Island have seriously upped their game in the past 12 months and it’s becoming a go-to shop of mine. Although my shopping experience would be far more pleasant if they didn’t play Rihanna tracks back-to-back on full volume. I understand her collection is pretty decent but that gal is seriously overrated – sorry RiRi fans!

London Fashion Week | OOTD

Dress – H&M | Jacket – Urban Outfitters | Bag – H&M | Necklace – eBay

Fashion Week, the only place that feels like home without actually being at home. Admittedly a little small fish, big pond kinda feel whilst walking through the courtyard but everyone has their own style and it works like one big unconventional, well dressed family.

A baroque-animal print hybrid on a bomber style jacket all sounds a bit dreadful (and a lot may say it looks equally as bad) but I needed it in my life and I think it dresses up a simple outfit pretty well.  It was also practical as it was casual enough to run around London but still had a little extra something for Somerset House.

Also, if you don’t have a WordPress account, you can follow me on bloglovin‘  instead – for all you blogspot users etc.

September | Transitional shopping

September shopping list - transitional pieces
It’s FINALLY time to start waving hello to my favourite seasons, Autumn and Winter! Firstly, I have to bare that weird-unpredictable in between weather that September normally holds. Luckily, it’s nothing us Brits can’t handle as seasons here are often blurred and rain is an all year round kinda thing.
I also start uni this month so I’m hoping to pick up plenty of comfy and casual pieces to see me through long days of lectures and whatever else my Fashion Promotion degree has to throw at me. I can’t wait to get started but first I need to get through the stress of planning outfits for Fashion Week. I wish I started planning it sooner but I just don’t have it in my soul to be organised, however hard I try.
Side note: I haven’t done any outfit posts in a while but I get my new camera soon so that should solve my ‘I refuse to upload this picture because the quality is awful and I look like a goose’ problem, or at least half of it… I’ll have to live with looking like a goose unfortunately.

Shopping List

July/August shopping list
I normally blog quite regularly on what items I’m currently lusting after but I’m so obsessed with mixing grunge and bohemian styles together that everything I want involves a kimono and some kind of pleather lately. I didn’t want to bore you all with my punk/boohoo infatuations but I don’t think I can help myself. I’m still not over holographic accessories either and that bag (008) is a dream.

Summer Essentials

Flip Flops – Versace Collection | MAC Fix+ Spray | Sunglasses – Ray Ban | Nail Polish – Barry M  (Matte White)

Mixin’ it up today and sharing with you some essentials I’ve accumulated over the past few weeks. It’s been impossible to leave the house without my Fix+ spray recently, I don’t know whether I’m more grateful for the little refreshing bursts through out the day or the fact my make-up doesn’t completely melt off my face… Not a pleasant look . I’ve also been obsessed with white nail polish since the Kate Moss (June 2013) cover of Vogue. The colour enhances my almost-non-existent arm/hand tan.

A pair of black sunglasses and sandals are personal preferences as majority of my outfits are monochrome based, but I can’t stress enough how handy a pair of black flip flops are for throwing on to finish up a floaty/care free summer outfit.

*The iPhone is a little random but I can’t stop listening to Bombay Bicycle Club. I tend to listen to certain bands/artists more depending on the weather and this band are perfect for the Sun and also make me extremely depressed I’m not attending any festivals this year.

New in / Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane

Boots – Jeffrey Campbell VIA Folkster

By the phrase ‘New in’, I mean: new in my wardrobe, new on my feet, new source of happiness, new love of my life. Yep, after drooling over these for almost a year, I finally got my hands on a pair. If it wasn’t for them being sold out on every eStore, it was my hesitation of spending that much money on another pair of black boots. I can assure you all though, they were well worth the wait and money. The quality is top notch whilst still keeping the boot light weight (I find certain boots Dr Martens to be a bit heavy) and the buckle detailing adds the perfect amount of grunge to an outfit. They’ve not left my feet since they arrived and its 25 degrees+ outside.. Dedication.

I ordered them from a website called Folkster which sell a variety of Jeffrey Campbell’s and other brands and I’m so pleased I chose that site. They go above and beyond to make the costumer happy and they even put hand written thank you messages on the tag – although my name was incorrect, the thought was there.

Also, the unicorn packaging came as a pleasant surprise. In my opinion, a lot nicer than the infamous cat/t-shirt style box all my other JC’s have arrived in. Let’s face it, Unicorns will always beat Cats.
